Common Celsius and Fahrenheit Temperatures
A handy reference for everyday temperatures, with examples that make the two scales easier to compare.

A few useful reference points
0ยฐC is 32ยฐF, 20ยฐC is 68ยฐF, 25ยฐC is 77ยฐF, 30ยฐC is 86ยฐF and 100ยฐC is 212ยฐF. These points are useful for a quick sense check even when you do not have a calculator.
Why the scales feel different
Celsius and Fahrenheit use different zero points and different size increments. A change of 1ยฐC equals a change of 1.8ยฐF, so the numbers do not move at the same rate.
For weather
When reading a weather report, the most useful skill is often recognising the general range rather than memorising every conversion. Over time, reference temperatures become familiar.
For technical work
Use the exact conversion when a measurement affects a process or specification. A rough mental conversion is useful for everyday decisions but should not replace the required engineering or scientific value.
